About the Department
The Microbiology Department at Medical Teaching Institution (MTI), Ayub Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad, provides laboratory services for the detection and identification of microorganisms associated with human disease.
The department supports clinicians in the diagnosis and management of infectious diseases and contributes to infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship through appropriate laboratory testing.
Laboratory Services
Microbiology services may include:
- Bacterial culture and identification
- Sensitivity and antimicrobial susceptibility testing
