US based Plastic Surgeon of Pakistani origin arrived in Ayub Teaching Hospital to conduct free plastic surgeries
Dr. Haroon Qazi, an American based Plastic surgeon of Pakistani origin belonging to Abbottabad has arrived in Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad to carry out free of cost operations for children born with a congenital deformity of cleft lip and cleft palate till September 2.
Dr.Haroon Qazi, is a profound plastic surgeon with over 45 years of experience in Plastic surgery, hand, maxillofacial, Aesthetic and Reconstructive surgery. For the last 30 years, he is on a mission of serving the people of his motherland. Dr.Qazi started this mission in 1988 and performed approximately 60 cases each time. Cases included Cleft lip and cleft palate mostly besides complicated Burn deformities of the face, eyelid, lip, neck, and hand. He is regularly visiting Pakistan each year to conduct free Plastic Surgeries. A few years back, he used to bring two other American plastic surgeon with him on this mission named Dr. Pritt from California and Dr. Josef from Colorado. They have not only performed thousands of free surgeries but also trained a number of surgeons. They have conducted hundred of reconstructive surgeries after the Earth quake 2005. Dr. Haroon Qazi is a graduate of Khyber Medical College, and received his specialization in General surgery from New York and specialization in Plastic surgery from Colorado, USA.
Media Manager, Amber Javed told media that Dr.Qazi is conducting free surgeries for Cleft lip and palate in Ayub Teaching hospital, She urged patients to get themselves registered with the surgical department. Plastic Surgeon Hamid Fazeel and Assistant professor Surgery Dr. Shawana Asad are accompanying Dr.Qazi on his mission.
Medical Director Dr.Ahsan Auragzeb is personally taking care of all the arrangements to provide best facilities to Dr.Qazi and his team. He said that Dr.Qazi is an asset for this nation and we are highly grateful for his services.
