The IT Department currently as Management information Services department started in January 2015 with three resources ie Incharge IT Department Engr. Shehryar Ali , Mr Sohail Ahmad Shah Network Administrator and Mr Shahbaz Ahmad a computer operator .That time all department are working on manual system and Goal was to automate the all department and provide paperless environment .

The project was taken as challenge by the Incharge IT department as it was not easy to transform the manual system into computerized system.

There was different challenges i.e. Non availability of hardware, IT infrastructure, Motivation to the employees regarding Hospital information system, Transforming Manual system into Automated system.

Hospital Information Management

The installation of Hospital Information Management System (HIMS) is milestone for any such organization to improve the management as well as administrative system and upon approval of BOG this important assignment accomplished by grace of Allah Almighty. All prerequisite for HIMS software was completed within shortest possible timeie ( Data Center , Fiber Optic Network , Infrastructure and purchase of hardware ) and also BOG approved required HR for said project.

GENERAL IMPACT OF HIMS.

Since the installation of the HIMS in the wards / units is completed, the patient record is completely computerized and CNIC of the patient is being used as Medical Record number of the patient. The system is user friendly. All Laboratory machines have been integrated with the HIS system and reports are electronically generated through the systems installed in the different wards/units. The patients are being admitted and discharged through HIS system.

Prior to this patients had to wait for laboratory and other manual reports for long periods that caused various complaints regarding delay in report, human errors etc.

The HR and financial systems have also been made functional and now payroll and personal data of employee’s record is available on single click.

All the internal and external stakeholders are fully satisfied from the HIS.
