Board of Governors Ayub Medical Teaching Institution Abbottabad has appointed Hospital Director, Medical Director and Dean for the term of Five Years. The BOG has appointed Brig (R) Mushtehsen Raza Khan as Hospital Director, Professor Dr. Ahsan Aurangzeb as Medical Director and Professor Dr. Umer Farooq as the Dean & Chief Executive of the Institution.
All the appointments were made according to rules and regulations. The positions were advertised in the national news papers. A large number of candidates applied for the positions, and short listed candidates were called for the interviews after adopting a strict scrutiny process. The selection committee interviewed the candidates over a period of two days, told Chairman Board Dr. Asim Yousuf. We have taken long time to make these appointments to ensure merit and transparency, he added.
Brig (R) Mushtehsen Raza Khan, who has been appointed as the Hospital director will look after administrative affairs. He has an extensive work experience of hospital administration.
Prof Dr. Ahsan Aurangzeb, head of Neurosurgical Department, was an interim medical director for 6 months before his permanent selection as medical director. He will be responsible for clinical development and supervising diagnostic, treatment and patient-related matters.
Dr. Umer Farooq, Professor of community medicines has been appointed as the Dean and the chief executive of the institution. Prof Farooq is a member of elite council of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council. He is a well-experienced individual on academic as well as key administrative positions. Professor Dr.Farooq served the institution as interim Dean and Hospital Director for the period of six months before this. Board of governors and employees of the institution has expressed full confidence in all the three directors and expect the maximum coordination among them to achieve the objectives.
